  • Bryan Hurlbutt

    Bryan Hurlbutt

    LEAD PASTOR

    Bryan Hurlbutt serves as the Lead Pastor of Lifeline, providing directional leadership and acting as the primary teacher during Sunday services. His passion for disciple-making emerged during his undergraduate years through preaching and discipling youth and young men. He holds a Master's Degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctorate in Ministry from Talbot School of Theology. In addition to leading the Lifeline staff, Bryan actively impacts lives for the Kingdom through speaking and writing engagements.

    Bryan, along with his beautiful wife Jennifer and their three amazing daughters, relocated to Utah in 2003 to establish Lifeline. A lifelong Syracuse Orangeman fan, Bryan brings a dedicated and experienced approach to his leadership role.


  • Rob Alles

    Rob Alles

    ASSOCIATE PASTOR

    Rob Alles serves as an Associate Pastor at Lifeline, where he leads the Adult and Children’s education ministries. His responsibilities include creating and developing curriculum for various Lifeline programs. Following a career in construction, Rob answered God's call to pastoral ministry. He is passionate about shepherding and promoting Biblical study and education. His background in business ownership, coupled with his love for Biblical studies and seminary training, has equipped him for his current role.

    In 2014, Rob and his wife Melissa moved to Utah with their five children. They enjoy serving in ministry together. Rob's personal interests include duck hunting, fly fishing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

  • Brad Homer

    Brad Homer

    PASTOR OF WORSHIP & MEDIA

    Brad Homer is the Pastor of Worship and Media at Lifeline, where he also contributes to counseling and discipleship. He holds a Master's Degree in Worship Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (2009) and has experience as a worship and youth pastor in three other churches. Brad is passionate about fostering healthy, God-focused teams, systems, and individuals. While he is a lead worshipper on Sunday mornings, his focus is also on empowering others to use and develop their talents in worship.

    In 2011, Brad, his wife Rachel, and their three sons moved to Utah to serve at Lifeline. They frequently serve together in the worship ministry and enjoy traveling.  Brad enjoys telling dad jokes and loves to hear your experiences and how God is working in your life.

  • Stephen Blue

    Stephen Blue

    EXECUTIVE PASTOR

    Stephen Blue serves as the Executive Pastor at Lifeline, overseeing finance, facility management, connections, and providing pastoral care. He joined Lifeline in 2015, initially serving as the Student Ministries pastor for several years. Stephen has a deep passion for helping students develop a Gospel Identity and remains involved in the youth ministry. He holds a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and has a significant background in youth ministry volunteering, which is where he connected with Lifeline's lead pastor.

    Stephen and his wife, Michelle, have been married for over two decades and have three daughters. He is also known for his expertise in tacos and his love of salsa.

  • Aaron Dodds

    Aaron Dodds

    PASTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRIES

    Aaron Dodds serves as the Pastor of Student Ministries and Worship Leader at Lifeline, where he is also involved in teaching internships, student leadership development, and design and media support.  He earned his master in theological studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary while completing a two-year ministry development internship at Lifeline. Aaron’s passion is equipping students and their parents for ongoing discipleship and theological depth in the home.

    Aaron and his wife, Krista, have one adopted son Remy who has been a tremendous answer to prayer. Joining Lifeline in 2015, both have served across various ministries utilizing their gifts, hosting epic events such as Nifty Thrifty.

  • Crystal Santos

    Crystal Santos

    DIRECTOR OF COUNSELING

    Crystal Santos serves as the Director of Lifeline Christian Counseling Center at Lifeline. In this role, she directs and mentors the counseling staff and develops counseling resources for both Lifeline and the wider community. Growing up with mental illness in her family revealed the resilience that God provides. This personal experience has consistently been a way God uses her to impact the lives of others. Crystal holds a Master's in Clinical Social Work and has extensive training in Biblical Counseling. She considers it a privilege to be part of God's work in bringing hope and healing to people's lives.

    Crystal and her husband, Jono, relocated to Utah in 2011. They have two children and enjoy baseball, soccer, and family travel.

  • Len Robinson

    Len Robinson

    DIRECTOR OF VOCATION & PASTORICAL CARE

    Len Robinson, our director of vocation and ministry, brings nearly 50 years of diverse ministry experience to Lifeline Community. Since moving to Utah with his wife, Hope, in 2022, his focus includes the Summer internship program, Journey ministry, and Parish ministry. Len is deeply passionate about people and ministry, particularly helping individuals discover and utilize their spiritual gifts. 

    Married since 1974, Len and Hope have three daughters, sons-in-law, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In their leisure time, they enjoy traveling and enthusiastically support the NY Yankees and Giants.

  • Esther Tepfer

    Esther Tepfer

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    Esther Tepfer serves as Administrative Assistant, contributing to the execution of projects through communication, organization, and collaboration with pastors.

    Having grown up attending Lifeline Community with her family, Esther has deep roots within our church. After high school, she pursued an Associate's degree in Theology at Reformation Bible College in Sanford, Florida. Upon returning home, she married her husband, Caleb, and became actively involved in our youth ministry, serving as both the Youth Worship Leader and a girls discipleship leader.

    Outside of her church responsibilities, Esther and Caleb enjoy watching movies, hanging out with friends, and making sourdough bread from scratch.

  • Sidney Porter

    Sidney Porter

    OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

    Sidney Porter serves as Lifeline's Office Administrator, managing a wide range of administrative, financial and operational duties. Her responsibilities also encompass extensive media editing and creation for Lifeline. Sidney works closely with fellow administrative staff on events and daily operations. She is a graduate of Ecola Bible College’s School of Ministry.

    Having been actively involved in the local church throughout her upbringing, Sidney began attending Lifeline with her parents in the fall of 2017. She is deeply committed to serving others and prioritizing Christ in her relationships. In her personal time, Sidney enjoys creating cherished memories with friends and family, along with her cat, Lady Grey.

  • Reghan Hurlbutt

    CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

    Reghan attended a Bible College in Oregon for two years and then served as the Dean of Women, where her passion for Children's Ministry developed. She strongly believes that children are the next generation of warriors for the Kingdom and should be trained in godliness in a way they can understand. Having been raised in Lifeline’s Sunday school programs, she was taught how God loves her, an experience that changed her life. Now, she desires for children to have a similar experience and hopes to provide a space for them to ask questions, hear stories, and further their walk with the Lord. Reghan is pursuing a degree in Biblical counseling from Davis College and happily spends her spare time watercolor painting, playing/writing music, hanging out with friends and volunteering for Lifeline Students. 

The following statements of belief are based upon our understanding of Scripture and are the basis for living the Christian life as a community of believers

OUR BELIEFS

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

  • We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was a living man who was and is fully God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.

  • We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

  • We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.

  • We believe that the Lord’s Supper and water baptism are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age. However, they are not to be regarded as means of salvation.

  • We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.

  • We believe that only those who are thus members of the true and invisible Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.

  • We believe in the personal, glorious, and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this blessed hope has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead — the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

OUR PASSIONS

We use the term “passions” instead of the traditional term “values” because a passion is not only valued, it is something that truly drives you.

These seven passions really drive us, and they are the standards by which all of our ministries are measured.

The term “passion” is defined by Webster’s as “intense or violent emotion.” Of course the idea of violence does not apply, but we wholly embrace the notion of intensity. In other words, we want to have our hearts in what we do. We want our whole person engaged in these seven passions.

They are based on the acrostic PASSION so as to be mnemonic, and we want them to be on the front burner of each person’s mind and heart at Lifeline Community.

  • We are driven by the worship of God and believe it is our job as His community to express how much we love Him with passion. We want to worship Him with all aspects of our lives, both individually and as a community, and we want that worship to be from the depths of our heart and with our whole person engaged in proclaiming His goodness. “My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul” (Psalm 108:1).

  • We think it’s important to be real. Jesus abhorred hypocrisy, and so do we. We want our lives to be filled with integrity. We are not interested in putting on facades of pseudo-spirituality. We want our lives to match what we say. “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity” (Proverbs 11:3).

  • We believe that the Bible alone is God’s written Word for humanity. It is completely true, and it is our guide for what we should believe and how we are to live. It addresses all of life, so we go to it for the answers to all of life’s dilemmas. “Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth” (John 17:17).

  • We know that the most valuable message for the world is that salvation from judgment comes only by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. God continues to give us breath to share this message. Sharing it with others is a priority in the life of our church. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20a).

  • We treasure the gift of family and see it as the primary sphere of influence in our lives. We believe that strong families will make a strong church, and we want to equip families to glorify God in every area of life. “These commands that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

  • We believe that God wants our church to be unified. This doesn't mean that we are all the same, but it does mean that our hearts are knit together and committed to a common vision and a common mission. It means that we appreciate individuality within our church and allow it to be expressed without trying to make everyone else look just like us. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

  • We are committed to recognizing the worth of every individual. We are all made in God’s image. He loved each individual enough that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for them. Therefore He expects us to treat everyone with dignity and honor. “What is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that You care for him? Yet you made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor” (Psalm 8:4-5).

with us in the Gospel.

As Christians, we are all part of the Great Commission to make disciples, and through the local church, we are able to do this as a team in order to achieve a greater impact, which will reach into our neighborhoods, cities, nation, and world. The ministries and missionaries we support are part of this Great Commission impact, and we partner with each of their ministries with this in mind. Our ministry partnerships reflect a desire to make disciples throughout a wide variety of cultures and demographics for Jesus "came to seek and to save the lost" wherever they might be found.

    BIBLE TRANSLATION

    Wycliffe Bible Translators exists to work with churches, communities and partner organizations so that everyone can access God's Word in a language that touches their hearts. They work all over the world and interact with a variety of cultures speaking or signing more than 7,000 languages worldwide. The specific individual we support is an expert in Biblical Hebrew and leads teams that focus on the translation of the Old Testament.

    Pillar Church was birthed from a shared conviction that the people of God are not only to share the good news of Jesus with those around us both also to be a conduit of change for unjust ideologies and social constructs that have developed in our neighborhoods and nations. Eric has a passion for people, which includes sharing the Gospel with them and walking alongside then as they navigate God’s word and life.

    MENA Team

    Through a spectrum of ministries in more than 40 countries around the world, ReachGlobal empowers disciples who make disciples in their local context. Though the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) remain largely unreached with the gospel, God is at work in the region and people are interested in Jesus like never before. Relationship building is the foundation of ministry, friends showing friends how to follow Jesus. We work closely with local believers to establish new churches where the gospel isn't known.

    By God's grace, The African Centre for Apologetics Research has been established to respond to the challenges of cults and aberrant Christian movements in central Africa. ACFAR is providing Christians with the resources and training they need to effectively defend their faith and reach out to the lost with the gospel. ACFAR focusses on apologetically defending the true faith, supporting local churches, and ministering specifically to marginalized women.

    UCI Began in February 2005 with JeanJean and Kristie’s God-given desire to share JeanJean’s seminary training with the lay pastors of the area near Caiman (JeanJean’s home town) by providing seminary level education. Today, UCI’s vision for the future involves three primary objectives: teaching the Word of God, equipping future national leaders through education & training, and uniting Christians around the world in Gospel mission.

    The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake is a faith-based nonprofit organization to help the homeless and restore broken lives. We are a safe place where those who are homeless can experience the love of Christ and discover a pathway off the streets.
