The Big Dream, Lifeline Community in West Jordan, utah
Lifeline Community will be a significant Evangelical church in the Salt Lake Valley, located in West Jordan. It will be a place marked by its passion and vibrancy; the kind of place that makes people come alive for all that God has made them for. It will be a place marked by its substance, the kind of place where the depths of biblical truth are plumbed and found rich, thrilling and fruitful. In other words, we will be bringing passion and substance together in a synergy that will allow people to be excited about growing deep in Christ.
A big part of this will be our commitment to discipleship and empowering people to serve the Lord with character and competence. We will offer opportunities for people to systematically grow deeper and deeper in their walk with Christ. We will not however make them into “coffee house debaters”. We want them to be pouring out what has been poured into them. We want them to experience the joys and challenges of ministry that will be sure to strengthen their faith. We want them to be stretched to extend, for the glory of God, beyond what they ever thought possible.
Our commitment to discipleship will ultimately make Lifeline Community an epicenter for discipleship at a national level. We long to be a model of how a church remains vibrant, culturally engaging and sensitive to those who are seeking yet taking people on a deep journey in the faith.
Our worship will be meaningful. We long to be passionate pursuers of God. When someone visits our morning worship service they will leave knowing that they have seen people authentically and wholeheartedly worshiping God. Our outreach will be impacting. We will have events and programs that meet people where they are. We are reaching out to them not inviting them to reach out to us. Our missions will be global. We want to see those who have never heard the Gospel have the opportunity to hear it and read it in their own language. We will also be using our mission movement to transform the Intermountain West. We long to plant churches in this particular sector of the United States. Our sense of community will be enriching. We will strive to create an environment that allows participants to be vulnerable and genuine. We will foster intimacy within the body and seek to empower people to build lifelong relationships. Our service will be influential. We will be a primary influence in our community. We will use social inroads to bring the Gospel to the hurting and marginalized. We will make our presence known by our love for one another and our love for our local community.
